I got to play 40k relatively late in my player career, but this little fascist dystopia has since taken a special place in heart. There is something about trying to survive in a world where everything, literally everything, wants to kill you one way or another.

Meet a psyker who was deemed fit to sustain the God Emperor as a sacrifice. Right up to the moment when he we taken out of the fire (almost literally) and thrown straight into the frying pan. Five Inquisition minutes later, he found himself on Scintilla, Gun Metallicus specifically, assigned to solve a case relating to the Imperial Truth. Not that he knew what that was at the time.
He lived through quite a few adventures, developed some highly heretical ideas (like believing that the God Emperor was but a man!), saved a number of people and damned even more. In the end, he let the fires of his heretical faith (the Emperor may be just a man, but that doesn't mean you can believe in him) consume him (quite literally) and his cell. At least he took a bunch of Orks with him.
